F-Host Test Tool

The PROFIsafe F-Host test tool is used in the PI test laboratories to perform PROFIsafe compliance tests. Developers of PROFIsafe F-Hosts use the F-Host Test Tool to prepare their devices for the PROFIsafe compliance test at the PI Test Lab.
The F-Host test tool is aimed to prove the correct functionality of the F-Host state machine. Thus the F-Host is stimulated by field bus communication namely PROFIBUS or PROFINET. The architecture of the F-Host test system is oriented at the ISO standard for Conformance testing methodology and framework.
In addition to the F-Host Tester, the Data Type Tester is required for the conformance test.
Data Type Test Tool

Within the scope of the PROFIsafe conformance test, the correct mapping of PROFIsafe data types in the F-Host shall be proved. For this purpose the F-Host will be connected to an F-Device, which can be configured for the data types to be proved and which maps the output data received from the F-Host to the input data sent to the F-Host in a predefined manner.
PI sells the software for both testers as a bundle to PI member companies that wish to develop F-Host devices.
The “PROFILgate” hardware is required to run this software. It is not available from PI and must be ordered separately from the manufacturer.
