For an easy and reliable PROFINET installation a component approach for passive network components has been standardised in the IEC 61784-5-3. The requirement for this approach is, that the passive components fulfil the PROFINET Guideline "PROFINET Interconnection Technology".
The Advisory Board has decided to discontinue the list of registered PROFINET passive network components.
The manufacturer declarations for passive network components are no longer managed by PI.
Nevertheless, it is still important that only passive components that comply with the current PROFINET guideline "PROFINET Interconnection Technology" are used for PROFINET networks.
Manufacturers of PROFINET passive network components can use the template below to issue declarations for their customers. The prerequisite is that they have taken appropriate measures to ensure compatibility with the "PROFINET Interconnection Technology" guideline.”
