Product description:
The MIO connects up to 12 discrete inputs (counter and frequency signals, valve position, vibrating forks, NAMUR sensors) and 4 discrete outputs (valve control) and provides many remarkable functions that enable easy installation:
- sensor connections with intrinsic safety (Ex ia) for discrete signals in Zone 0/Div. 1
- removable terminals
- DIP switch for configuration
- connection to fieldbus according to FISCO or Entity
The MIO is certified intrinsically safe and as associated apparatus even when the fieldbus connection is not. The fieldbus powers the sensors and MIO itself. Additional power and wiring is not required. Data, configuration, and alarms are communicated via one fieldbus address to the DCS. Inputs can be configured all at once or individually. This ensures high availability of the fieldbus segment and thus the process automation system.
- Measurements for breakaway time and runtime can be set with limits for alarming
- Automatic stroke testing is configurable
- 4 inputs can be configured for vibrating forks and 1 input for frequency and counter signals, e.g. for rotating equipment
- LEDS for power, communication, diagnostics, and error
- Test points for easy troubleshooting
- DCS integration via GSD and FDT/DTM
MIO junction boxes are configurable with many options selectable:
- enclosure types: glass fiber reinforced polyester, stainless steel, aluminum
- cable glands
- grounding bar
