A practical example is used to explain how IO-Link can be used to solve a specific automation task. Step by step, the configuration of an IO-Link system and the parameterization of various IO-Link devices using S7-PCT in a SIMATIC S7-1500 setup are demonstrated. The project is then loaded into the devices and put into operation.
