One master for everything. The communication between the IO-Link sensor and the PLC is controlled by the IO-Link master. The master is either installed in the control cabinet or directly in the field. The IO-Link sensor is connected to the master using an unscreened sensor cable that is not longer than 20 metres. The master ensures digital signal transmission (binary switching, analogue input/output, parameters) to the PLC or to the parameter setting software autosen:io.
