PI Working Groups and Committees
All projects undertaken by PI - ranging from writing the original specifications for PROFIBUS and PROFINET to organizing major marketing programs - are delegated to Project/ Working Groups made up of expert volunteers from member companies.
Currently there are more than 50 Project / Working Groups, comprising over 500 personnel. Project / Working Groups are organized beneath a set of Committees who have overall responsibility for projects initiated by PI. The Committees are organized in a flexible matrix structure, which enables better visibility and coordination of the Committees´ and their Project / Working Groups' tasks.
The Committee Chairmen align the comprehensive tasks at Technical Strategy meetings of the Advisory Board.
Any member of PI has the right to participate in these Project / Working Groups.
No other fieldbus organization is capable of matching the expertise, commitment or manpower that PI Project / Working Groups bring to modern automation. By delivering standardized and consistent solutions across industry PI ensures plant operators can optimize manufacturing lines and maximize profits.
