Training Centers

PI Training Centers (PITCs) support developers and users in learning about and using PROFIBUS and PROFINET. They deliver formalized educational sessions aimed at raising the knowledge levels of engineers in several important areas of PROFIBUS and PROFINET.

PITCs deliver a variety of training classes and in different ways. However, all operate to a consistent standard that is audited by PI to ensure a standard quality of performance.

PROFItech: PROFItech is a description for classes delivered to engineers seeking certified engineer status in the world of PROFIBUS and PROFINET. There are currently two types of PROFItech classes:

  • Certified Network Engineer for PROFIBUS and separately for PROFINET. Both involve an intensive one-week course.
  • Certified Installer classes. A one-day class.


Engineers successfully passing tests or exams at the end of such classes are awarded certified engineer or installer status. Names of successful engineers and installers are published on this and other web sites in the PI Community.
