The SIMATIC Robot Library enables standardized programming of industrial robots in TIA Portal via SRCI (Standard Robot Command Interface).
The robot controller is connected to the SIMATIC S7 controller via a GSDML file provided by the respective robot vendor as PROFINET I/O device. Communication between the SIMATIC S7 and the respective robot controller is implemented via PROFINET (isochronous operation is not required), with the robot controller acting as the IO Device and the SIMATIC S7 as the IO Controller.
