Yulia Sandamirskaya is the Head of a Research Center „Cognitive Computing in Life Sciences“ at Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). Her team develops neuromorphic brain-inspired technology to enable service robotics in health- and elderly care. In the past, Prof. Sandamirskaya led research teams at Intel Labs, University of Zurich and ETH Zurich, and at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. She was named among "30 women in robotics you need to know about“ by Robohub in 2020,  received a Future Maker award by Business Insider in 2022, and an Academic Achievements award at the International Humanoid Forum in 2026.
