I&M Functions - Test Specifications
PROFINET , PROFIBUS , PROFIBUS PA
Description:
Test Specifications for I&M Functions V1.0.0 related to „Profile Guidelines – Part1 Identification & Maintenance Functions, Version 1.1.1“
PI made the commitment to implement I&M functions in PROFIBUS and PROFINET products. For PROFIBUS this decision takes effect, if the following boundary conditions apply: I&M functions must be implemented with all slave devices with MS1/MS2 channel (MS2 channel mandatory, MS1 channel optional) for which a new ID number is assigned. This is checked during certification test. Implementation is required for all Devices submitted for testing after October 1, 2005. It is recommended that already existing Devices with MS1/MS2 channel with a certificate subsequently implement the I&M functions. Certification of I&M with DP Masters will not be carried out, since access by DP Masters to I&M of DP Devices has not been standardized.
