PHOENIX CONTACT Competence Center
In order to facilitate access to this technology for PROFINET users, the automation specialist Phoenix Contact, the independent testing and certifying body Phoenix Testlab and the software manufacturer KW-Software have bundled their know-how in the “Phoenix Contact Competence Center”, which is accredited by the “Profibus User Organization".
By cooperating, the three companies can offer services throughout the entire lifecycle of a PROFINET solution. Service starts with development of the individual components and is continued through system engineering to system retrofits.
Concept and technical specifications
During development, the experts working at the accredited PROFINET test laboratory, which is integrated into the Phoenix Testlab, give advise and certify products in the areas of EMC, radio, environmental simulation and electrical device safety.
All relevant standards are considered and the product requirements deriving from these standards are documented.
Development
KW-Software´s business area PROFINET supports device manufacturers and solution providers with a comprehensive portfolio of products and services.
Suitable PROFINET technology components for PROFINET IO controllers and devices are available for integration into the customer´s target platform.
Hardware and software integration or porting is carried out based on your requirements including also custom-made adaptations or extensions.
Conformance test
Phoenix Testlab carries out conformance tests for serial end products and tests during the development stage. The advantage of the latter is that possible device problems that could endanger a positive result of the entire test are detected at an early stage and can thus be corrected during development. The device developer decides which functions are tested at what point.
After successful testing, the customer receives an official test report, which he can use to apply for a certificate at PI. For these devices, PI issues certificates valid for three years.
User service
With the provided service, Phoenix Contact concentrates on the solution-oriented use of PROFINET products. The main aspects are configuration, startup, service, system retrofits and trainings.
As one of three international PROFINET training centers in Germany, the Phoenix Contact Competence Center is authorized to train certified PROFINET installers and engineers. Furthermore, you can have yourself accredited by us to become a PROFINET Training Center and in this context have certified trainers for the independent training of engineering and service personnel.
