PNO Germany announces that Jörg Freitag (35) has been unanimously elected new member of the Board of Directors during an extraordinary Advisory Board meeting of PNO on occasion of the SPS/IPC/DRIVES fair on 28th November 2007. The election had become necessary as the chairman of the Board of Directors of PNO of many years, Edgar Küster, had deceased at the end of October. With Jörg Freitag, the acting Board of Directors – Professor Klaus Bender (itm, TU Munich) and Klaus-Peter Lindner (Endress + Hauser) – comprises three persons again as required by the Statutes of the PNO. Until the next members assembly during the Hanover Fair 2008 with scheduled elections for the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board, Professor Klaus Bender will take the chair.

Jörg Freitag studied electrical engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. For more than ten years he has been working in several fields of Siemens AG. Within the framework of his activities, Jörg Freitrag acquired an extensive special knowledge in the field of automation technology as well as industrial communication. His close working relationship with Edgar Küster enabled him to gain a deep insight into PROFIBUS and PROFINET and he followed the developments for many years already.
