In 2009 the PROFIBUS technology is celebrating its 20th anniversary. For this occasion, PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International) together with PNO (the German Regional PI Association) organises a conference

“Excellence in Automation”
taking place from
March 11-12, 2009 in Karlsruhe/Germany.

This event offers an excellent platform for discussions about new technologies and innovative applications, and answers all questions about every aspect of automation. The PI conference covers a wide range of industrial communication solutions, experiences and current trends. It focuses on the technologies PROFIBUS, PROFINET and IO-Link as well as on solutions for Wireless, Safety, Security and device integration. The target groups for the PI conference are end users, developers, system integrators/OEMs and scientists. Languages of the conference are German and English.

PI invites all persons interested in a presentation to hand in their abstracts (German or English). Deadline for the submission is October 15, 2008. All abstracts handed in will be assessed by the program committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Peter Neumann, ifak Magdeburg.

Die PROFIBUS-Technologie feiert 2009 ihr 20-jähriges Bestehen. Zu diesem Ereignis organisiert die PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation e.V. zusammen mit PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International)

am 11. – 12. März 2009
eine Konferenz „Excellence in Automation“
in Karlsruhe/Deutschland.

Die Veranstaltung bietet eine hervorragende Plattform, um neue Technologien und innovative Anwendungen rund um die Automatisierung zu diskutieren und Antworten auf konkrete Fragen zu erhalten. Dabei werden alle Bereiche der industriellen Kommunikation abgedeckt, von Appli-kationen bis hin zu aktuellen Trends. Der Fokus liegt auf Technologien wie PROFIBUS, PRO-FINET und IO-Link genauso wie auf Lösungen zu Wireless, Safety, Security und Geräteintegra-tion. Zielgruppen der Konferenz sind Endanwender, Entwickler, Systemintegratoren/OEMs und Wissenschaftler. Die Veranstaltungssprache ist Deutsch und Englisch.

Mit einem Call for Papers fordert PI alle Interessenten auf, Beiträge für die Konferenz in Form eines Abstracts (in deutsch oder englisch) einzureichen. Einsendeschluss ist der 15. Oktober 2008. Alle eingereichten Beiträge werden dem Programmkomitee, unter dem Vorsitz von Prof. Dr. Peter Neumann, ifak Magedeburg, zur Auswahl vorgelegt.
