IO-Link check under real-world conditions
Interoperability Workshop to provide assurance for product development

The next Interoperability Workshop of IO-Link will take place on October 13-14, 2016, at the BEST WESTERN Amedia Hotel in Raunheim at Frankfurt Airport. Once a year, manufacturers of IO-Link sensors, IO-Link actuators, and IO-Link masters meet to test the interoperability of their devices, tools, and software components with those of other manufacturers.

IO-Link is now implemented in all established fieldbus systems on the market. This also applies to almost all well-known PLC manufacturers. The fieldbus-neutral IO-Link standard is thus the ideal solution for many companies that enables them to connect their products to a wide range of systems and controllers worldwide. Interested manufacturers and developers can test how this works in practice at the workshop.

For many years, participants in the Interoperability Workshops have engaged in information exchange and discussion regarding implementation, data integration, and troubleshooting. They are joined by IO-Link experts in these discussions. The focus of the workshop is on practical application. Accordingly, a wide variety of device combinations can be tested with each other over two days. For many manufacturers, this event provides extra assurance of their product's functionality, particularly in the run-up to market launch. At the same time, the discussions stimulate valuable ideas for further development of their devices.

For the IO-Link Working Group, the workshop provides important information for reviewing and adapting its test environments as necessary. Accompanying the 2-day workshop will be a forum where participants can exchange information about IO-Link products and their application as well as other possible uses and to find potential partners to help them in development of products.
