In this section you'll find several sets of downloadable files, ranging from simple forms to join PI to executables to help you engineer and commission PROFIBUS and PROFINET devices. Much of it is free, although to get some files you'll need to join PI to gain access. The 'key' icon tells you which file needs a password.
Back to download listChecking the functionality of a PROFINET device without having detailed knowledge about the content of the description file is often important for the user. This is what the XML Viewer does.
The XML Viewer is able to show the content of GSD files for PROFINET IO and PCD files for PROFINET CBA in an easy to understand table view.
It also contains a function to check the accuracy of GSD and PCD files which helps to build a valid description file.
Built-in sample files are a good starting point for editing own GSD or PCD files. Therefore every standard XML editor can be started out of the XML Viewer.
The tool is provided free of charge by PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation e.V. (Germany) to all members of PROFIBUS&PROFINET International (PI).
