This document describes the mechanism to build up a redundant PROFINET IO system. To achieve highest flexibility, this document supports redundancy at each of the levels mentioned above. Redundancy at each level is independent of redundancy at each other level. This means that the PROFINET IO controller, the Ethernet media and the PROFINET IO device can have different redundancy configurations.
