In this section you'll find several sets of downloadable files, ranging from simple forms to join PI to executables to help you engineering and commissioning PROFIBUS and PROFINET devices. Much of it is free, although to get some files you'll need to join PI (Become a member) to gain access. The 'key' icon tells you which file needs a password.
For non-members we offer certain documents for sale. Please find our current literature list with official prices and order form here.
If you are looking for a specific order number please use also the full text search in the upper left hand corner of this website to find your documentation or software.
This guideline establishes a common level of features supported by the nodes, which ensure that a consistent set of information is provided to detect topology and provide the topology information to a device/tool that requests it.
There are two principle target groups of this guideline:
1. Node developers need to know what type of information is needed inside the device. However, for PROFINET devices the primary source of reference is the PROFINET standard. Therefore, this guideline may provide only supplementary information for this target group.
2. Engineering/diagnostics tool developers need to know how to retrieve topology-related information. Unlike for the PROFINET devices, the requirements for the engineering and diagnostics tools is not uniformly defined in the PROFINET standard. Therefore, this target group is focused primarily with this guideline.
