In this section you'll find several sets of downloadable files, ranging from simple forms to join PI to executables to help you engineering and commissioning PROFIBUS and PROFINET devices. Much of it is free, although to get some files you'll need to join PI (Become a member) to gain access. The 'key' icon tells you which file needs a password.

The GSD Editor of the PROFIBUS User Organization (PNO) in Germany is a 32-bit MS Windows application. It provides an easy-to-use interface for creating,
editing and checking GSD (General Station Description)  files for PROFIBUS-DP devices. The PROFIBUS GSD Editor is based on the Specification for PROFIBUS Device Description and Device Integration, Volume 1: GSD Revision 5.1.

The GSD Editor was developed for PNO by ifak in Magdeburg, Germany.


Hardware requirements

  Personal computer: IBM compatible PC,
                     Pentium or higher recommended

  Free space on HD:  100 MB or more

  Screen resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher recommended

Software requirements

  Operating system:  MS-Windows,
                     Windows 2000 or higher recommended

  Help Browser:      Browser shall support chm file format
                     Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher recommended
                     CHM-Reader Add-On required for Firefox
                     other browsers and viewers available


1. Follow the instruction of the Install Wizard.
2. Normally it is not required to run Hhupd.exe from the
   generated program folder. Hhupd updats HTML Help to
   the latest version. This update could be required for
   operating system versions before Windows 2000.

3. Start the GSD Editor from the generated program folder.
