PI Middle East is proud to announce their next technical seminar focused on applications of PROFIBUS for the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemicals Industries.

This evening event takes place on June 13th, at The Address Hotel, Dubai Marina. The focus of the event is PROFIBUS technology and its applications in local industries, with a mix of presentations from technical experts and end-users.

ASM Establishment have been accredited as a Certified PI Training Center. This is the first such centre in the Middle East.  

The audit was undertaken by Mr. Dennis Van Booma, of PROCENTEC in March 2012.

ASM have been in close cooperation with PI Middle East since 2011 and are already a PI Competence Center. Paula Doyle, Chairman PI Middle East, said: "The development and support of local knowledge is a vital aspect of the PI network and we are proud to add our first Certified PROFIBUS Training Centre."

Speakers from Transco, Dubai Municipality, DC Pro & ASM Establishment shared their experiences of using PROFIBUS and the benefits they have accrued.

Applications covered include district cooling, sewage treatment and water distribution.

The official establishment of PI Middle East was celebrated with an international event in Dubai on June 29, 2011.

Key founding members, including ABB, E+H, Phoenix Contact, P+F, ProSoft, Siemens, Stahl, Turck and Yokogawa, invited customers and business partners to attend and learn more about PI International and the advantages of PROFIBUS and PROFINET.

A total of 130 representatives from a wide range of industry sectors participated in the launch event, which was led by Paula Doyle (Chairman PI Middle East).

Mr. Joerg Freitag, of PI, gave the keynote address which gave the audience an insight into the global status of PROFIBUS & PROFINET, as well as the current technology.

Mr. Wyn Owen, of United Sugar, Saudi Arabia, gave a presentation on the benefits of using PROFIBUS & PROFINET in United Sugar installations.

PI Middle East has a strong focus on providing local support in the region. PICCs, or Competence Centre, are an integral part of the PI network. These centres are responsible for providing PROFIBUS & PROFINET expertise to end-users.

In June 2011, PI Middle East welcomed Dr. Hassan Kaghazchi, of PI Ireland to audit three technology centres for PROFIBUS.

Dr. Kaghazchi visited Ajman, Beiruit & Jeddah to conduct the globally-certified audit procedure for each centre. Both the expertise and services were inspected according to global guidelines and procedures.

We are delighted to announce the addition of all three centres to the global network of Competence Centres.
