PI has over 1400 members worldwide. They include all leading automation vendors, plus many end users and other organizations such as universities around the world who profit from advanced information to achieve a competitive edge in the market.
The most important goals of PI are the continuous development of PROFIBUS and PROFINET technology, know-how transfer and protection of investment for end users.
Members of the organization can be vendors of hardware, software and systems as well as end users and operators, scientific institutes and federations provided they support the purposes of PI and the respective Regional PI Association (RPA).
